The Magician has lost his sense of humour, so Sleuth Astrid must find it before the 3pm show.

The Astrid Sleuth set is easy to read for any-age boys or girls but with some quirky, challenging ideas. Hidden in each chapter is a clue that will help solve the mystery so early readers can snoop around each illustration

Author

Hazel Edwards

Hazel Edwards is a Melbourne based author who writes books and scripts for children and adults. Picture book 'There's a Hippopotamus on our Roof Eating Cake' is her best known title which has been continually in print for 27 years and adapted for stage, radio, video and puppetry as well as widely translated. We have included her in this list because some of her Young Adult fiction has a mysterious bent and it could be a useful introduction for teenagers.
