Having just posted a media announcement on the 2018 Ngaio Marsh longlist (the media announcement is here), now for a few personal comments. Firstly and most importantly, if you've been standing by waiting for a review to be posted (especially if your book was in the submissions list), this is the reason for the delay.

For some reason getting hold of the latest Paul Cleave books here has become a bit of a marathon - but once they arrive - straight to the top of the pile.

From the Blurb:

In the latest thriller by the Edgar-nominated author of Joe Victim, someone is helping rape victims exact revenge on their attackers, prompting an edge-of-your-seat, cat-and-mouse chase between old friends, detectives Theodore Tate and Carl Schroder.

The Cleaner absolutely blew me away, and Joe Victim is a follow up to that book. Sounds good to me :)

From the Blurb:

Joe Middleton has a lot on his plate, to say the least. Arrested for a whole slew of murders he says he can’t remember, Joe—a.k.a. the Christchurch Carver—has been in jail for the last year awaiting trial, charged with the task of convincing the psychiatrists interviewing him that he wasn’t of sound mind and can’t be blamed for what he did. And, incredibly, that’s the least of his worries.

His short stories written at school always concerned his teachers, and his High School report card stated there was a time and a place for his kind of writing – and school wasn’t it. At nineteen, Paul began work on his first few novels will never be allowed out of the bottom drawer.
