Algeria, 1945

In the aftermath of World War II, soldier Robert Lombard returns to his wealthy family’s Algerian wine plantation hoping to build a peaceful and prosperous future for his country.

Mohamed, his Arab friend and comrade-in-arms against the Nazis, arrives home at the same time – but experiences the dark side of French rule in a way Robert can never understand.

As powerful colonial tensions bring Algeria to boiling point, the two men find themselves deeply entangled in the violence of a new war.

With fanaticism, savagery and deception on all sides, good people must be prepared to risk everything to forge a stable future for Algeria.
