The Jaws of Revenge, Mike Boshier
Somebody called Jess Lowther has been demanding that I post reviews of a couple of Mike Boshier's books that were entered in the 2018 Ngaio Marsh Awards. These reviews have been queued up on the site for sometime now, and I've been resisting posting them as there's nothing much I can contribute to discussion of the books. My apologies to the author, I had intended leaving it at no comment.

Originally drafted in 2018: Flagged as thrillers in the John Deacon action adventure series, THE JAWS OF REVENGE is the first book. As a fan of fast-paced, exciting action thrillers, unfortunately I didn't love it as suggested in the blurb. As always, other readers may find these books considerably more appealing.
The fate of America lies in the hands of one team of US SEALs. The US mainland is under threat as never before. Osama bin Laden is dead, and the world can relax. Or can they? Remaining leaders of Al-Qaeda want revenge, and they want it against the USA. When good fortune smiles on them and the opportunity presents itself to use stolen weapons of mass destruction, it's Game On!
Al-Qaeda leaders devise a plan so audacious if it succeeds it will wreak the USA for good. With help from Iran and from a US Navy traitor, it can't fail. Tens of thousands of Americans will perish.
One team of US SEALs stand in their way. One team of US SEALs can save America and the West. However, time is running out. Will they be too late?
