The Pettingill crime family was almost off limits to police. Two members had been acquitted of the murder of two young policemen, with no chance of persecution. Along comes undercover cop Lachlan McCulloch. He spent months befriending the people who had killed his comrades, knowing that they would kill him without compunction.

Lachlan McCulloch

In a police career spanning two decades Lachlan McCulloch was commended for bravery, exposed police corruption, cracked heavy drug gangs and went deep undercover to infiltrate Australia's most dangerous crime family. But his best years in The Job were spent on "The Street" dealing with the bad, and the sad and the mad.
