I'm breaking my new regime here a little, but what's the point of making up your own rules if you can't blithely ignore them when the whim takes you.
But I went to the Launch of Clan Destine Press(link is external) on Saturday night (disclaimer - I'm the web worrier for this fantastic new venture), and listening to David read our Dougal's speech (Dougal drew the short straw and had to stay home and mind the babies... wattle birds that is) so David was deputising, even an old hard boiled noir fan like me couldn't resist this book any longer!
From the Blurb:
After some traumatic early life experiences, Dougal the black-and-white kitten falls on his paws into a loving home with two kind humans.
Opening Lines:
October 14?
Sometime around then I must have been born. I really had no idea what was going on, but my earliest memory is of feeding at Mum's nipples with my brother and sisters. I can't remember if my eyes were open yet or not. It didn't matter.
After some traumatic early life experiences, Dougal the black-and-white kitten falls on his paws into a loving home with two kind humans.
Dougal decides to repay his humans' kindness by trying to be a Good Cat at all times. When you have a sister like Shadow, being good isn't as easy as it should be.
