About the Author

Francis Adams was born in Malta in 1862 and educated in England. He emigrated to Australia in 1884, largely as a result of ill health. Six years later he returned to England. He suicided in 1893 at the age of thirty.

A freelance journalist and writer, Adams contributed poems, short stories and articles to numerous publications, most notably the Bulletin.
