Barry Dickins

Born in Reservoir, Victoria, Barry Dickins worked in factories for five years, before becoming an apprentice set painter at Channel 7, Melbourne. Dickins is a prolific writer of plays, novels, stories and autobiographical fiction, and is a regular contributor to many newspapers.  He is also a renowned cartoonist and his cartoons have been seen regularly in the Melbourne Age as well as a number of his prose publications. Dickins has won a number of fellowships and has been a writer-in-residence at a several theatres and institutions.
