Ned Kelly Awards 2017 Submissions List

All the submissions to the 2017 Ned Kelly Awards have just been announced and as usual, every year as the entries start to roll in, I start to fret about the ones I haven't had a chance to read yet - this year, needless to say is no different :) Check out the full list at: http://www.austcrimewriters.com/2017-submissions or follow the links below to those that somebody here have been lucky enough to review.

Keeping up with the 2015 Ned Kelly Submissions - Best Crime

This year I've promised myself a red hot go at reading the entire submissions list for all 3 of the Ned Kelly Categories. Preferably before the 2016 Submissions List is released although there are days when I think I might have bitten off more than I can possibly chew. Still - getting there :)

Next up Best Crime - kept the best to last :)

AustCrime - April Wrap Up

April, apart from finishing off one book, was 100% Australian author month. Half way through the month it dawned on me that in 2006, when I got the first version of this site up and running, it was a bit tricky to fill an entire month's reading with local books - even with a bit of back catalogue re-reading.

CR - The Marmalade Files, Steve Lewis & Chris Uhlmann

Book Title:

I will confess to a more than active interest in Federal Politics - from the sidelines. The machinations and glorious goings on have always been a matter of some considerable spectator interest, so THE MARMALADE FILES was a happy find. Although I'm still not convinced it's crime fiction, unless you regard political backstabbing as criminal (personally it seems somewhat more lifestyle...).

From the Blurb:

An imaginative romp through the dark underbelly of politics by two veteran Canberra insiders.
