Jennifer Rowe

Memorable Books from 2011

Whilst I can normally manage to cobble together one of those dreaded "Top 10" listings for some of the mailing lists or, just before Christmas, on the Sisters in Crime website, I hate doing them.  It's such an arbitrary number, and doesn't even allow me the luxury of a favourite book per month.  So instead, a few reminders to myself on what really stayed with me from last year's reading list of 135 books.

Currently Reading - Love Honour and O'Brien, Jennifer Rowe

Author Name:

I'm as startled as you are.  Light-hearted, bordering on chick-lit and I've really enjoyed the latest (and much waited for) release from Jennifer Rowe.

From the Blurb:

She stared into the speckled mirror, wondering how she had come to this.  How could she, Holly Love, apple of her parent's eye, competent manipulator of invoices in Gorgon Office Suppplies, have ended up alone and starving in a dead man's flat?

The company is celebrating its recent takeover and the most important Berry & Michaels' authors are coming from all over the country. Quentin Hale, Managing Director, thinks this party is a great idea, but some of the staff don't seem to be in a party mood.

Blurb from the book

When burnt-out pop-star Adam Quinn is found grotesquely dead on a secluded mountain property called Haven, it looks like a case of suicide. But is it?

Bliss, Skye and Astral Brydie, the three sisters found at Haven with Quinn's body, are vague about what happened the night he died. And their mother is nowhere to be found. The girls seem terrified, as if they're holding something back. The neighbours are only too ready to talk. But how much of what they say can be believed?
